Review:

This anthology was smokin hot and had enough tricks and treats to make even the choosiest romance addict smile. All of the stories were good, but I connected with three out of the four.  The first story “Seducing Mr. Right” was grab some ice cubes and crunch hot.  I love stories where you have a little subterfuge going on and this one was sexy billionaire in disguise.  The second story was just as awesome. Hot foxy costumes (literally) cause some trouble when a girl decides to seduce her best friend at a Halloween party. “Tempted by His Best Friend” by Cari Quinn made me want to go out a buy a fox tail and ears for this Halloween!  The third story was a little distracting and I didn’t finish it. The forth one, “Protecting What’s Theirs” was a great cop drama with some D/s thrown in for good measure. It left me all tingly and wanting much, much more…

All and all, I enjoyed the anthology, but felt the third story was going around in circles a little too much and I stopped reading it. Brazen Halloween stories are smokin hot and I hope you do another one very, very soon.

Review:

I enjoyed this short read. The Quickies line of Taboo stories by Ellora’s Cave is always a fast and fun read and this one was even more fun than most. Being frustrated with the day to day life of marriage and the lack of sensuality is a very real thing. Things get into a stagnant place and sex can just dry up. When Heather dares to share her inner longings to Mick, she has been on tender hooks. Is he going to ask for a divorce? She is ready to give it to him, but with her heart in shreads. She loves him terribly, but wants him to be happy.

When things are great, Valentine’s Day can be awesome. When they aren’t, it can be one of the most miserable days of the year. As Heather comes home, expecting the worst, she is pleasantly surprised by a sexy note and her husband with a box of tricks. The story takes off from there.

The style of writing really captured my attention. Adventurous sex, BDSM style is in store for Heather and Mick has been studying hard. Nipple clamps, impact play, restraints, toys, anal play, oral sex and more await this soon to be happy sub as she submits to her husband and Dom.

Delicious story and full of sexy fun! I was riveted to the page and I can’t wait for the next book by this author.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Soul Stripper: The Review

Image

By day, Monica is a barista in a local Las Vegas cafe. It doesn’t pay a lot, but it puts her up close and personal with her sexy boss, Drew. Unfortunately, that’s as far as a succubus can go unless she wants to take his soul.

Monica needs mind blowing sex to sustain her, and she finds her victims every night at a local strip club where she’s an exotic dancer. But when her powers begin to diminish and her fellow succubi start turning up dead, all bets are off. Monica realizes she’s the one immortal who has a chance in hell of making things right…

This book was sent to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Books about succubi are some of my favorite reads. Monica is a succubus who works two jobs and struggles to keep her balance both in her soul collection and her attraction to her coffee shop boss. He hates that she is a dancer at a club, but has a new bleach blond girlfriend, so Monica has to try and keep her distance. That and if she lets herself taste him, the consequences could be lethal.  Monica was an angel and that has some of her Hellish co-workers a little peeved. She has been a succubus for a long time and only takes her soul-food from those that are on the path of darkness anyway. When someone starts murdering succubi, Monica isn’t sure who is friend or foe and things go South pretty quickly. Great plot twists and some of it I never saw coming. Magic, mayhem and a lot of sexy action abound.

I loved the element in this story about the loss of her powers and what it would mean for a succubus to temporarily become human. The tug of war between Hell and Heaven among angels and demons where Monica was concerned made the book a page turner.

Going into this book, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be like other succubus books I have read in the past, but no. Soul Stripper held its own and I have a feeling there are some interesting things about to happen in the second book as Monica begins to loose her Heavenly dedication to only taking a sip of souls destined for the dark side. Innocence is about to be on the menu and it is going to be a bumpy ride.

4/5 for a fun read with a character I grew to really like. Can’t wait for book 2!
